Hydro foot-n-inch pedal adjustment

Pretty simple, just make sure the pedal does not
contact the platform. If it did that would keep
valve from fully seating internally. If you are
having some problems with it you probably have a
broken spring inside or if it returns too slowly,
the fluid has leaked to the back side of the
dashpot piston. In that case I just loosen the two
little bolts and let that trapped fluid leak
out and tighten back down. Originally they were
filled with kerosene in there to make pedal
return slowly (but not too slow) but still work in
cold weather.

Thanks Pete22...long story short I have been on here before about this Hydro slipping in high range. With with advice from here I found if I pulled up on the pedal while doing the stall test it would stall the engine. Now mind you it could only be pulled up VERY littel. Looking it over I see there is an adjustment on the valve. I will have to play with it and make it so the pedal does not contact the shelve at all. Another thing..I had a spot on a small hill that I discovered this "slipping" problem. took it to the hill and sure enuff it still slipped when start up a rather steep grade (runs fine on the road when it is already rolling going up small grades) I reached down and pulled up on the pedal and it loaded the engine more but still "slipped". I am thinking adjusting it properly may resolve the problem??? When IO get home tomorrow I will give it a try. Thanks for any and all help or suggestions.

(quoted from post at 03:45:10 05/29/12) My hydro 86 was slipping bad and i found a broken spring in the valve ,got a new one works great now.
Going to heck this out today..try adjustment first. Is there a kit available to rebuild this valve??? Where did you get the spring to replace the broken one if that is the case??...Thanks for the help...I checked the CaseIH site they want over $800 bucks for a new valve which is totally crazy...

I got the spring at the case ih dealer. I think they are the same valves as the combines so you could buy a used one from a scraped combine if you need a new one.

Was able to fix the problem by making the adjustment...now engine at 1800 rpm's hold brakes push the lever all the way forward in high range and it stalls...whew really happy about it..THANKS for all for the info..valuable site to have around...
