The hand crank shaft on my H is stuck solid. I don't know if it has ever been greased. Does anyone have any ideas how to get-er loose?

A penetrant of some sort may help if squirted from the underside. You might force some grease in the grease fitting. You can also remove the wheels and then the shaft in the upper bolster, block it up good and work from underneath. For my SM, since I am restoring it anyway, I removed the upper bolster and turned it upside down, then everything was exposed.

The only way to get it out of there is by removing the entire front bolster. I suspect you will need to remove it completely to get it freed up.

I have loosened several. When you have the radiator out sometime take a torch and heat the pipe in the front bolster and when it is good and hot cool it fast with cold water and it should come loose. One I had to heat and cool several times before it came loose.

It is spring loaded. Try to get your favorite penetrating oil to it. Then hit it frequently for a few days. Put a piece of 2x4 or brass between the hammer and the crank shaft. Ellis
