To check noises with clutch bearings, with the pedal released the bearing should not be touching the release levers on the pressure plate and will not be turning so there will be no noise. As you start to press down on the clutch pedal when the bearing starts to touch the release levers the bearing will start to spin and any noise should start then. If you continue to press down on the clutch pedal until the clutch disk is released the pilot bearing will begin to spin as the disk slows down. By listening to when any noise starts you can determine which bearing is making the noise.

In your case the noise happens when the clutch is totally released so if you have the correct free travel in the clutch adjustment the noise is not in the clutch.

I agree with Owen.

The throwout and pilot bushings should be out of the picture when the clutch is released.
