Farmall 464 help

Hello guys, I have a 464 that runs for about 50 seconds under load and then dies. You have to wait to restart it for approx 45 mins or so. When you restart it you have to choke it again even if it is warm. I was wondering what you guys think? Intake gaskets or manifold? Valve lash? distributor? New coil on it. It is like someone shuts the key off. Carb maybe? Just lost with it. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks Jason

I'd have to guess its trash [rust, etc] in the fuel tank.

If it acts like someone shuts the key off, maybe someone is, figuratively speaking...

Have you checked for spark when it dies?

45 minutes sounds to me like a cooling-off period. Something is getting very hot very quickly, and failing.

Another possibility, I had a Cub Cadet that would run like that. Idle all day. Rev it up and it would die within a minute. Turned out to be a burned valve.
