Super A forest fire tractor

Does anyone out there know anything about these tractors? I am looking for any available info on them. They are pretty neat, and I am trying to gather info on parts and such. I'm sure its a very rare tractor, but any info would help. Thanks, Adam
 
I saw an A that was outfitted as an industrial fire-fighting vehicle at Red Power a few years back. It was interesting given my interest in both fire-fighting and Farmall Tractors.

I've never seen one outfitted for forest fire fighting, but it could certainly be done.

I expect that is is a one-off, put together by someone after market, not by IH.
 
Personally I've never seen any. Found some pics on the internet though. Google for pics with the search words "farmall" and "fire".
I've also seen a pic of a Farmall Super A that was converted to a self propelled boom sprayer; it had a cylindrical tank mounted to the right of the engine and in front of the operator.

Here is a picture of that industrial one. I took the picture at Madison RPRU. IIRC the tractor came out of a GM plant in Ohio. The fellow on the seat actually worked at the plant and bought it on a sealed bid auction when they were getting rid of it. Judging by the decals, looks like Inland made the fire apparatus.
