super A block swap

I have a 51 super A that landed hard on the front end.Broke the block and front bolster.I was lucky enough to get a 1941 A for parts.I know that I will loose the hydraulics but this tractor has always been used as a wagon puller so that is a non issue.I have stripped the C113 block on the super A and was measuring up the outside diameter of the sleeves that were removed from the A They appear to be different by an 1/8 th of an inch. Due to budget (or lack there of) I need to get this running cheap. So what are anyones thoughts about putting all of the fresh parts from the super A and using the pistons and sleeves from the A?

Do it. RIdge ream the sleeves, Hone them at 45degree crosshatch angle with 400 grit hone, put new rings in it and go to work. Jim

Some of the later Super A's would take a bigger bore sleeve and the regular A's would not.
The Bigger sleeve should measure 3 7/16th at the seal ring and the early or smaller sleeve is 3 5/16th's.
I had the bottom of the block bored so mine would take the bigger sleeve and the machinst charged me $40 a hole because of the set up time.

Jim and ShaggyM thanks for the info.It would be my preference to use all of the Super A internals.I was not aware that I could modify the block.I guess I didn"t put much thought into it.I will go talk to my local machine shop. The guy does good work and he is reasonable.
