Farmall 806 diesel quit running

So I was headed towards the barn after running the hay teddder when my 806 diesel died on me. One plus it died in the barn yard. The tractor started fine and ran like normal when I was out in the field. So far I replaced the fuel filters, pulled the line at the pump there is a good flow there, pulled one of the banjo fittings on the pump and there is no flow there. Pulled the cover off the timing mark port and cranked the engine and the pump is turning. The pump was overhauled last summer when it wouldn't start and it ended up being the fuel tank cap the return line pressure was making the pump shut off. That made for an expensive lesson. Any ideas what it could be? The pump is a stanadyne don't remember the year of the 806 but the serial number is 4641 y

I messed with the 806 a little today pulled the tee fitting off the pump and its clear, what is the round glass ball for in the fitting that the return line tee goes into? Is it a check valve of some sort? Any other ideas to check?
Thanks,
Jeff

Sounds like weight retainer ring in pump is breaking up as usual. Can comfirm by loostening 2 timing cover screws with a catch can under pump to collect fuel as it leaks out. If tractor runs OK flex ring is broken and plugging return in top cover. Pump will need service or more expensive damage will happen. Top return fitting is used to control housing pressure, can be cleaned if not damaged. Will need replaced if ball is knocked out.

I had the cover off where the timing mark is when you install the pump and it did'nt run that way either if that's the cover you are talking about.
