I know they mount to my cultivators of my cub but I'm not sure what they do

I suppose you could use these on a cultivator, but these are jointers for a moldboard plow.

No, not used in place of the coulters, but used in ADDITION to the rolling coulters. The plow jointer is like a miniature moldboard. It actually will cause that first little bit of earth to roll over and be buried under the earth the main moldboard is turning over, thus creating a much cleaner, neater job of plowing, with virtually NO little bits of grass, cornstalks, etc. left on the surface.
