Smallest Fuel Tank

Not being critical or looking to start something, but what Farmall had the smallest fuel tank to horsepower ratio?

Which Farmall could empty its tank the fastest...?

Thanks,
Glenn

I think the W9 gas with a 36 gallon tank could beat them all. I know it's not the smallest tank but I believe it would still run out first. A W9 is real hard on gas. I don't think you would make 6 hours on a tank.

(quoted from post at 14:20:26 05/18/12) My guess is the 400 with the small(9 gal?) tank.

Old timers always talk about what a pig they were. They said you couldn't not fill up a couple times a day.

Strange subject. In the 50's I filled our H up twice a day. If I forgot it would run out about 3:30-4 PM, but it ran at least 7 hrs before that. The M-450-up are known to use a lot of gas, the W9 logically more. That's why eventually everything became diesel.

It was way before my time, but a "big" farmer back in the 30's had two 22-36 McD tractors on steel. A farm hand that worked for him said that he had to keep gas cans at both ends of the field just to keep going when they plowed!
I know my old 10-20 surprised me 45 years ago when I switched from rubber to steel rear wheels. It used about twice as much gas.
