Just had the Generator repaired and he said that he polarized it for positive ground which is correct. Then he said that I had to polarize the Regulator too. How do I do that?
Thank you,
Jeff

touch a jumper wire from the field terminal (middle one) to the battery terminal on the other side of the regulator.

Why is this on the Farmall board? Is it a statement about the ability of people on the Allis board OR is the implication that Farmall people have more experience fixing things?

The regulator doesn't get polarized, just the generator. I would still polarize the generator after installing it & everything is hooked up electric-wise.

(quoted from post at 16:28:40 05/16/12) touch a jumper wire from the field terminal (middle one) to the battery terminal on the other side of the regulator.

You have the correct wires for jumping for polarizing if you have a 4 terminal regulator, but the middle wire is the B(attery) terminal, not the F(ield).

You NEVER touch the Field when polorizing you touch the batt to the gen terminal with a piece of wire it will draw a spark and do it before running the engine.
