666 hydraulic issue

My 666 gas has app. 1600 lbs. hydraulic pressure, when testing with guage, I hear the pump whine some and the pressure jumps to 1600#, then drops to about half of that pressure, and then repeats the higher pressure again. This happens about 8-10 times a minute. Pump filter is fine. Do I need to replace pump?

Try hytran oil before you put a pump in it really helped my 666

How is power steering working, that is same pump. You might have a ruptured or loose return line inside the final drive. On these tractors the oil from pump goes through system and then return right into the main suction tube and the pipe or hose coming down from the top often lets go allowing air to enter system.
