Spark plug wire question

My super A still has the original spark plug wires from the factory which i think is pretty neat, i want to keep them on it but the outer layer of fabric is coming off, i thought about wrapping them with electrical tape or maybe heat shrink due to when it rains they get wet then the tractor doesn't want to start. what would be the best to protect them?

personally I'd just buy a new set.

Brillman.com has the original style fabric wires for about 20 bucks. they'll dirty up soon enough and look original in no time.

I think the shrink tubing or electrical tape would look much worse than sme nice new apark plug wires. Keep the old ones for display with it. I would rather have a tractor that runs and starts well.

Take the old ones and hang them on the wall...Then buy new wires,Brillmans or NAPA-doesnt matter.Just make sure that they're solid metallic core.

You want the original wires for the LOOK, right?

Covering them up with electrical tape (redneck) or heat shrink (sophisticated redneck) ruins that look, right?

Besides, electrical tape and heat shrink are only rated to 600V. If the insulation is breached on the wires this won't stop the spark.
