Bull Pinion Shaft Oil Seal

I am rebuilding an old 1940 Model H and have it all put back together with new bearing and seals except for the Bull Pinion Shaft Oil Seals. My local dealer sent me new seals but they are the wrong size. He says that what he sent is the right replacement but its not. Its about an inch too small.

Any body know where I can get two 48498D seals?

Check Messicks website you can look up all parts etc. They have the aftermarket seals for less or you can call a bearing/seal dealer give them that number and see what they derive.

Thanks to all of you for your help. I did find the new part number and called my dealer back to discuss it with him. That is the part number he sent to me but what we found is that the wrong seals were packaged in the box. The seal that was in the package was part number CR 16406. We do not know what it is but it is not the correct part.

The correct seals are on the way....thanks to all.

This will finalize the transmission and final drive with some new gears, all new seals and all new bearings.

Earl you will find the new ones are much thinner than the original ones. I usually install 2 one each side but that is simply my technique. I have had the wrong part shipped in the correct box before. All part of the fun.
