I finally got to spend a day spraying 140 acres of corn with my 400D.This was a job my '47 JD GW has done since 1987.I have kept a record of the fuel burn on my GW, and with the lite job of spraying,it's fuel burn was 2.0 gallons per hour. The 400 burned 1.375 per hour. The wide front on the GW gives a smoother ride, but the TA and live PTO are curtainly an advantage.Due to making less tracks in soybeans the GW will go back on the sprayer for that job.

Good deal. I have been using my MD for all my field work this spring and I am loving it. WAY less fuel than the SMTA.

Back in the late 80's and early 90's I sprayed all of dads and my corn and beans with my MTA and 500 gallon sprayer.

This amounted close to 1000 acres a year after 2 trips were made on some of the acres.

I then went to a larger sprayer and had to retire the MTA from it's duty. The MTA got the job done for many years. I had added extra hydraulic vales and ports to run the booms on that 500 gallon sprayer.
