Super A Steering Gear

Anyone have a steering gear disassembled from a Super A? I know that this is not the classified ads, but the part I need is not usually one that is replaced and is hard to describe in just the limited options on the classified parts. Front wheel fell into a stump hole and completely busted the front steering housing. I have all the other parts, but I need the top bearing retainer; triangular shaped piece with large hole in center and three bolt holes around outer edges. For those of you I offend by placing the question here, please accept my apology!

Not exactly sure what you broke, but I bought the lower piece that the axle bolts to from wengers dot com, you might try them or maybe Bates Corp, if no one on this site has it. This type of "ad" is ok, you obviously need help. Mike at Steel Wheel Ranch, you might try first-785-548-7437-Worth a try but I don't think he handles many offsets.

The piece that broke is actually the retainer the holds the top bearing inside the steering housing. The upper housing cracked completely in two pieces and allowed the front wheels to roll underneath tractor. When the housing broke and rolled under the tractor, it pulled all the internal working parts out and actually bent the steering wheel shaft. Luckily, the only internal part that was damaged was the bearing retainer ring.
Thanks for your information!

I know what you`re looking for and found it in the parts catalog on the CaseIH website. Part number is 43500D. I have no idea if it`s still available from CaseIH. I would try them first. The retainer , if available, shouldn`t be too costly. John Hargis at J.P. Tractor Salvage in Fredericktown,MO may be able to help you ,too.

Thanks! I will try CaseIH. It is sort of ironic, I have had several of these steering gears disassembled over the years and could have saved this part, but never thought I would need one. Oh, well! you can't save everything.
Again, thanks for your help.
