Super C rope bracket ?

What is this thing for and where does it mount?

That doesn't look like a seat rope bracket. The tractor end rope brackets were mounted to the rear of the seat frame and were made of about 20 gage sheet steel. I think the whole idea was to make the bracket fragile so that a lost hitch pin or a tripped hitch on a plow etc would not pull the seat off the tractor or damage the trip mechanism on the implement(if the rope was that strong). The part shown is much too stout to be a seat rope bracket. It might be a rope guide for some implement.

Throwing a ruler into the picture would have helped. Is the c-clamp part of it the right size to go on a throttle rod or on an axle housing?

My guess is it clamps to the light bar to support the adjustment crank of a mounted plow.

Bracket is made out of 1/4" x 1" bar stock and is about 5" in overall length. "U" clamp is about 1". Rope
hole is about 3/4" diameter.

It's too small to fit the axle or light bar and too big to fit the throttle rod.

I thought it was for the row markers for the mounted planters. However it's not shown in any of the
manuals I have.

I've tried to trial it it to the tractor in various places but it's not obvious where it should mount.

I have a bracket that looks like that one mounted
on the stepped down end of the light bar, right side,
on a 51 Super C
right side light is missing, just that bracket on the right side.
no idea what it's for.

Dean, OT, but I was reading some old posts about a SC fast hitch
and remotes.
You were talking about running another cylinder.
On a SC I recently got with a FH,
lines come out of the factory remote valve, run up
to under the steering wheel to a 'valve'
then back to the FH block.
This 'valve' is basically just a switch.
lever on top lets you select the FH lines or turn it to
send to 2 different fittings on the other side. unused right now.
pick one or the other pair.
It looks like it might work for what you were talking about.
I could post some pics if needed.

Like Jim said it holds the adjusting crank for a C-295A plow. Here's a picture...

(quoted from post at 12:10:23 05/12/12) Please post some pics of the extra valve plumbing. Thanks

here are some pics
I'll let you know how it functions when I get it
all sorted out and working.
The factory remote valve isn't attached properly and
its stationary 'leverage rod' has been broken and welded.
I'll fab one up.
Ford man here, so excuse any errors in how I think SC stuff works.
The factory Fast Hitch is an interesting design.
I was going to take it off, but I think I'll get it functional.
everything looks like it is there according to the manual.
