hydraulic oil leak

is it possible for the hydraulic oil to move to the crackcase oil on an international 240?
i keep puting in hydraulic oil in and it gets low again and again.

yup,seals are leaking on the pump, oil is passing in to the crankcase.

will i have to break the tractor apart to fix it

nope, the hydraulic pump is mounted in front of the distributor. if you go to the case i-h website and search for parts, it will show a blow up diagram of the distributor and pump set up. if you havent done it before, you may want to pick up a repair manual as you need to keep the timing correct when you pull the distributor and pump off.
