Cultivators for an H

I picked up 2 sets of cultivators for and H/M. Not sure of the
models but one hydraulic and ones hand raised. The hand ones are
steerable, and have a full set of fronts and rears. Pretty good
shape but will need a bracket welded on and some oil to loosed up
the lift handles. Question is Can I mount the steerable ones with
out hooking them up to steer? I don't have the bracket that goes to
the tractor but everything else is there. Or does anyone have that
bracket? This also means I get to but another tractor to keep as
just my cultivator tractor =)

I'll look for the bracket I'm pretty sure I had one at some point. It would be much easier to set it up with the bracket than any other way.

The other bracket I don't think gets welded on. I think it is a flat plate with a stud sticking out the front.

Unless you are planting check-row corn, you will appreciate the hydraulic lift and a non-steerable cultivator.
Maybe this is a restoration project?

I thought about the hydraulic ones. And I'm sure when I'm out there I will probably kick myself. But I'm selling those to a friend. I wasn't sure of the condition of either set but knew I wanted a set. I'm also keeping the hand lift ones because I actually have 2 sets of fronts for it. The other set I might be turning into a potato digger of sorts.

Im in the process of mounting hydro lift hm238 cultivtors on my 41 h, they are the way to go... the steering peice for the hm221 cultivator you have is a 3 peice all 3 peices are being sold on ebay. Jim

I hope you don't plan on doing much cultivating with the manual lift unit. If you do I hope you are young and much of a man. I saw too many of those old tractors parked and not used just because they did not have hydraulics. My grandfather had an Avery, my uncle had a JD, and we had a neighbor abandon an F-12 on our farm just because there were no hydraulics. My mom said my dad would come in from plowing all day on that Avery and eat his meal and go to bed without speaking. FYI he taught me never to raise a plow without the tractor moving so keep that in mind when you try to operate those cultivators.
