41 h not running right

Just rebuilt the carb and put a really nice distellate manifold on my 41 h. It starts on choke but wont run without choke on. Tried adjusting carb but no sucess, it also seems like itw running a bit warm at idle or mid rpms lot of heat on that side of tractor any ideas? Thanks jim.

What does the spark look like??? If you have a weak spark you will have the same type of problem. If your spark will not jump a 1/4 inch gap and isn't a good blue white then that could be your problem

You still have junk in the passages inside the carb and the reason for the HEAT is she is running to lean. and ya may have the float level set to low .

Also make sure the gasoline is fresh and the fuel line and sediment bowl was flushed. After a long set up it was normal to take about two tanks of gas to get these old units running right. Do you have an inline filter? If yes take it off and run directly from the bowl to the carb.

Youve got a distilate manifold, where is the flapper set? If its all the way down, itll get hot.

It has new plugs and wires put them on yesterday,mag was just redone not long ago cleaned the metal fuel line tnk is clean, sediment bowl is clean as well. I need to check the flapper in the manifold to see where it is. Thanks jim

Tractor vet nailed it. You should be able to open the main jet & get it to smoke black. If not, clean the carb.
