Missed a SM with SMTA grill by a couple of hours

Saw an ad on Craigslist last week, it was only two hours old but someone else had already emailed before me. SM for parts or repair for $800 and it had a SMTA grill on it in the picture that looked to be in decent shape. Oh well, that's how it goes.

I saw that one last Friday.

Late 1953 Super M's had that kind of grille, and it had a pretty high serial number from what I could tell. It was probably correct.

The grille was easily worth most of what they were asking for the whole tractor... I passed on it because I got no place to put it right now.

The grill matched the photos I looked at for a SMTA, and I figured I
could sell the grill and have a very cheap SM project. I am sure that
whoever got it will enjoy it, though, and there will be other tractors.

I have been 15 minutes too late on a couple, too. Then I was right on time on my $325 H. I would still rather have the $3500 SMDTA that I missed out on. It was an email only no phone number given ad. I emailed him within 42 minutes of the ad going online and still was too late!
