Purchased another T/A just needs adjusted tractor.

How many times have I heard that. Didn't agree with the seller but didn't say so. Looks like already adjusted to many times. Was a new pressure plate that the disc had never slipped on the face. Still machined like new. Looks like a new T/A unit but poor work. Bolts in the wrong holes and other things. Look at the damage.

I don't see the problem, an adjustment is all it needs...

I'm not sure that pressure plate is even going to be a good core. Hopefully the rest of the tractor needs a little less adjustment.

Not meaning to hijack your thread, but what causes the stub break off the differential ? I had one break on my H.

The diff breaks from just plain hard work usually over a long period of time. Loading them down and useing lower gears. I put one in a 4440 Deere also, but the new one was "improved".

Man, what a mess!

Looks like the bearing stub on the diff was operated for a little while with the fracture.

We repaired an M last year (A $500 dollar special) that ran good but had pilot bearing out when we bought it. Once inside we also found a fractured Bull pinion carrier and the bolt bosses on the diff were cracked from the two halves trying to move. Some kind of shock load damage. It ran good but had pilot bearing out when we bought it.

Last week Dad planted 40 acres of corn with it.
