460 with wagner loader

Hi I just bought a 460 utility at an auction for 1500. and still not sure if I got a good deal or not. It runs and drives great but the loader lacks lifting power. I am first going to change the oil as soon as I get a book and figure out how to(I haven't even figured out how to check the level yet) but I discovered something really strange when I tried it out the other day. The loader lifts empty fine all the way up but won't lift any load above knee high, I noticed though that if you pull back on the bucket lever and the boom lever, once the bucket rolls back fully the boom goes up and if you let off the bucket roll the boom stops. Does this make any sense at all? I did notice that there is a new boom lever next to the double wagner one that has the bucket roll lever. The other isn't hooked to anything. Could this be a plumbing problem? I don't know anybody to take it to here in NY so anything you can tell me would help a lot. It has no pto or 2 pt so the loader is it's only real asset. It didn't sell at the auction and they were going to sell the motor and scrap the rest, so I decided to rescue it...
Thanks
Eric

By the way would that loader be factory? It runs off the tractor hydraulic pump and is Wagner loader self leveling hydraulic 5 ft bucket. Can's find a serial #. Thanks again,
Eric

You want to make sure you have clean hydraulic filters and fluid for that matter. Filters are located inside the left hand side of the tranny. They can be cleaned in kero of replaced. You should grab at least an I&T manual it will inform you where everything is at least.

Does sound like a plumbing problem. Some one must have tried to power beyond it which doesn't work out with this system.
