Looking at a 1953 Cub

I looked at a 1953 cub with sickle mower, starter is missing, tires weather checked but good tread, some oil seeps at gaskets, old repaint, pretty straight, no major dents or dings. Should have taken a picture but didn't. Guy is asking $1500. What do you think is a good price?

Seems like you can't find a Cub for much less than that around this part of the world. Maybe offer $1300. Starter missing isn't a big deal, I've crank started mine for the better part of 20 years now. Rarely takes more than two turns of the handle.
Make sure that the block isn't cracked. They are prone to it.

Great little tractors though!

I have a 1961 Cub w/sicle bar mower. electric start. If interested contact me at my email, have a couple of pictures $1650.00

i'd for sure want to hear it run before I bought it... without the mower it'd be a 800-900$ tractor around here...

Pricing is regionally affected but around here it would not be a good price. Just was at a local auction and a nicely restored Cub with many extras was about to go down the road for $1100. Was about to jump when another guy did and I think $1500 took her home.

gtwist, I would like to see your pictures but can't find any e-mail address and the "private message" is under construction. Where are you located? I'm in western Colorado.
