B Head on Super C

As per a catalog I have here it says the 2 heads are different as in it has 2 different numbers for the heads B having one number and the Super C another number

I'm not positive, but I think it will.

Gene Bender on here will know for sure.

You will have to use the water outlet from the B, the one from the Super C is a different diameter and a different angle.

You may also need to use a Super C head gasket too, not sure.

It will bolt on but the compression chamber in the head mite be different. Put the two side by side and compare as they did change the design of the heads in the compression area. Bolt holes will be the same and the gasket will work if you have newer stepped pistons make sure they have clearence for the piston. If the C has flat top pistone there wont be any problem. You can set the head on the engine and use some modeling clay then turn the engine over and check the clay.

The water neck will be a problem but the water pump is mounted down on the block for the SC and will not be an issue. Why can't the original B head be reconditioned and put back so all these issues can be avoided?

Yes, it will bolt on. But the water outlet is a larger diameter and comes out of the head at a different angle than a "B" water outlet because a Super C radiator is taller than one from and A, B, or C. Not sure, but I think a straight "C" water outlet may work, I haven't tried one.

I tried to put a Super C water outlet on a B one time and learned that they are different.

BTW, I still have an extra Super C water outlet, because I couldn't use it.
