706 gas, I replaced the plugs like you guys suggested and it helped alot, now it starts without starting fluid and will run, but only for about 5-10 seconds. It seems like the carb leaks gas. The rubber elbow at the bottom of the intake pipe is rotted through. So I wonder if leaking gas ate through. Any ideas as to what could be causing this? Everybody"s advice here has been great so far.

Well lets start with fuel flow . Remove the fuel line at the carb and see if you have a full stream of fuel coming down the line . If not then the problem is at the tank . Now if someone put a inline filter between the tank and the carb it needs to go . All ya need is the screen in the sediment bowl. Now if there is good flow down the line then ya got a problem with the carb . Is the solenoid working do you have 12 volts going to it?? . If no 12 volts NO run . Then ya have to figure out why no Juice to it and ya have to start back tracking . If it is flooding then ya got a problem with the needle and seat . They ain't hard to work on
