checking rear end oil

Good evening gents
My elderly father recently bought a 606 utility with a loader. He wants to know for sure where to check the hyd/rear end oil. He thought it was in the same location as his 560 but wasn't sure. Some one also told him it would have a dip stick but he hasn't seen one. I haven't seen the tractor or the book yet but will in a few days. Any help would be great. Thanks ,Lowell

It may be the same as my 504 utility. The level plug for the transmission & rear end on my 504 is on the left side of the transmission housing. It is directly underneath/behind the left foot panel. It is a 1/2 inch pipe plug that is drilled & tapped for a 1/4 bolt (7/16 head). You unscrew the 1/4 inch bolt from the center of the pipe plug to check the oil level. I think the 504 & 606 utilities shared the same transmission. There is no dipstick on my 504. Hopefully someone else will reply and confirm.
