Was there a demonstrator B

I dont believe there was, but I saw a couple of Bs for sale in various conditions, both stuck, and one of them had alot of faded white amongst the red the same as my 50 Cub Farmall.

I don't think there could have been as the B was replaced by the C before 1950, according to my sources.

I've never heard of any factory demonstrator program for the Farmall B, at least not of the type that was done in 1950 with the white Cubs & C's.

But, the factory would paint tractors other than red for special orders, and in the ensuing 60 - 70 years since they were made anybody could have painted one any color they wanted to. I've seen Farmalls that were purple, pink, black, white, even one that was painted a horrendous shade of green!

Farmallb from what our IH dealer told us years ago they stopped the Bs with the 1947 model. I have one of the last 125 Bs made and they were built with a C block in them. which had the block for live hydraulic pump.

IH used several different formulas for the red paint over the years, and the differing pigments in the paint would create varying effects when the paint began to fade. Certain years had a tendency to become sort of orange when faded, other years had a tendency to become pinkish, and I've seen more than one Farmall letter series tractor that became white, or at least portions of it did.

Lots of crazy things happened at the end of their production. By the way what does the engine # read i have a late one it doesent even start with FAB. Neither does the one my Dad bought for me in August 47. According to the cast codes they werent even hardly 20 days old when tractor was built. Brother still has it with original starter,gen,cut-out lites and so forth couple dents even original wiring Dad did have it changed to dist.

A few Super As were built in '47, but production of the C didn't start until '48.

Super A 250001 was built 12/22/47. C 501 was built 1/20/48.

Maybe as many as almost 7,000. We really don't know the actual number.
