Hyd. pump permanent removal on a 450?

What needs to be done to remove the pump and run just a distributor?

Is it as simply as unbolting them and just bolting the distributor on the location that the hyd. pump was? Making sure not to get the timing off.

You would need the adaptor housing like used on a
Super M without live hydraulics. M would have
different bolt pattern except maybe very latest M.
Timing is no problem as the dist drive gear comes
right out of the dist reduction drive housing and
you can put it in any place that timing lines up.
Put engine on tdc, note where rotor is and points
should be just breaking. Then put back together
same place. This is basic static timing. A 450
should be times full throttle with a light to 25
degrees BTDC if it is factory yet.
