Hi just wondering with fittings are what that are
coming out of the torque tube. Is there two
pressure and one return. Any help would be
great. Thanks

They are all pressure since an H with a belly pump only has one way pressure. When you release the pressure the oil just flows back to the reservoir. On earlier H's (maybe all H's) one port was a delayed lift for the rear cultivators - not sure which one.

Supposedly the rear port on the left side is the "delayed" action port, but it takes another special attachment to get it to function that way. Without that attachment, the rear port is just another pressure port, just like the left front port and the right side port.

Yes it is possible, but you need to add a valve to do it. It is pretty easy to do. I am sure others will chime in with pictures or diagrams .

2 ways I've seen it done (without the christmas tree valve): Run your return line into the bottom of the Hi-Lift Pump where the drain plug is, OR Put a Tee or an Elbow at the fill pipe on the pump and plug your return line into that.

True Stemmy..but I am thinking he wants to be able to extend AND retract the cylinder,in which case he needs a valve or christmas tree. Maybe I misunderstood what he meant by "run" a two - way cylinder?

You can run a two way cylinder but you need a valve in the output line from the belly pump. I run the return thru a tee in the filler pipe-works great. You have to keep the belly pump on all the time. I used a short tarp strap on mine.

All three ports are pressurized at same time. The rear one side with two is delay drop, (not lift as that requires a separate mechanism). When you push the rod forward to lower an implement, the mechanism inside contacts the rear check ball slightly later but it takes a trained hand to feel that. There are many different way of making it two way, all require adding a separate valve. So called Christmas tree valve was IH's factory way of doing it.

Simple two-way hydraulic conversion:

1. Purchase an OPEN CENTER two-way hydraulic valve.
2. Mount it in a convenient location.
3. Run a hose from the right hydraulic port to the IN on the two-way valve.
4. Run a hose from the OUT on the two-way valve to the hydraulic fill pipe under the gas tank. A tee fitting makes checking and filling the reservoir easier.
5. Run two hoses from the "work" ports on the valve to the rear of the tractor. Install quick-release couplers.
6. Lock the one-way control lever back.
7. Connect a two-way cylinder to the quick-release couplers.
8. Operate the two-way cylinder with the two-way valve.

This is a common sense way to do it. The cap can be sealed to prevent a mess if using a dual acting cyl. Porting into the bottom "drain" is much less messy. use a T. Jim
