Well, that engine was used in some foreign tractors for quite a few years after US production had already gone to the letter series, so it stands to reason there was a diesel version of the same tractor, dont recall the designation though, and most likely that engine was transplated from that tractor to the F-12. Ill have ot try and find that info.

still really cool though, knew they had a super c diesel but didnt know about anything earlier

What Im talking about may have been German. For some odd reason, I cant find my book with the engine and specs Im thinking about. Still, neat to see! I especially like those rear wheels!

The final form of the German version of what started as an F-12 was the DF-25 Farmall. This had a 3 1/4" by 4" diesel version of the F-12 engine. They went out of production in 1953 with the introduction of the DGD-4 Farmall (also 4 cylinder Diesel of the same size)

it was made in Germany during the same time period gas/kero 12's were being made everywhere else in the world. got some info on them from someone who is importing one

the big book of farmalls shows german built f-12 on page 64 . i wonder what there production was, and if there starter system could be adapted to
us tractors. starter looks to be mounted on left side under frame rail.
i will try to scan photo

Thats the one Im thinking about, the DF-25, or something like that. IIRC, the gas version was basically the same as the 12/14 engine. Im thinking that the diesle version could easily be adapted to the 12, since it was basically the same mounting, etc.
