Were all the 140's 6 volt?

and were the + ground?

IH switched to 12V on the Cub and 140 some time in the mid-1960's.

I think all 140's were NEGATIVE (-) ground.

Changed from 6V to 12V at s/n 26801 and up. My Farmall 140 is 12V being a 1965 model and s/n 307XX. It is a negative ground tractor and the generator was replaced with a Delco alternator by the previous owner at some point in time, Hal.
