Can anyone tell me the difference between a 560 and a 660, as far as the rear end and transmission? how much heavier is the 660? Also, the difference in 4th gear?
thanks

Data like that is available at the IH parts website and the Nebraska test site. I could look that info up but I rather you do it. You need to learn to do your own research. I bet you got that same advice when you were in grade school.

You can get basic info on external_link, and it's SOMETIMES correct, even. However they are not going to go into the history of the tractor or any "differences" between it an any other tractor.

AFAIK, the 660 has the same basic transmission and rear end as the 560.

The main difference is the 660 engine is governed to 2400RPM vs. 1800RPM on the 560, and there is a planetary gear reduction at the rear wheels to compensate for the additional engine RPMs.

Smart people open a tab for both tractors and compare the two.

560W and 660 have different gearing ratios within the transmission and differential due to wheel sizes and planetary axles as well as higher engine rpms on the 660.
