torsion rubber replacement on deluxe seat frame

If you mean the "shock absorber" rubbers which are used in other places besides the shock absorbers, yes that will take the slop out of the seat, provided you do not need some of the other parts. OEM Tractor Parts, Steiners, Bates, and many others sell all you need for the seat.

I guess I'm talking about the big round rubbers that are mounted to the back of the suspension and I think that they pivot when the seat moves up and down, mine are dry rotted, wondering how hard they are to replace, thanks

Not all that hard, have to back off the adjustment as far as it will go to engage the lugs. Probably have to work over the adjustment rod as they always seem to get bent when those rubber torsion springs break. Might have to get a few bushings as there is a sack full of them in that seat.

Joe I just replaced and rebuilt the seat on our 966. Bought 2 new rubber bushings on ebay for 73.oo new shock absorber for 43.00 and all the bushings for the seat off e-bay for 29.00. I got tired of bouncing against the fram metal on metal. Now have a much nicer ride. Dont even try to buy from the dealer, they want 5 dollars per bushing and there are a bunch of them.
