Napa part# H outer axel seal

Hey guys look for part number from napa for outer axel seal on my H. Wonder if any has gotten one from them or if possible. Thanks in advance.

They can cross the IH part number found in the parts manual or on the CaseIH site. Or if you have it out without destroying it, use that number.

And I've got to say it again - you guys don't know how lucky you are to have auto parts stores with employees who are able to match a seal like that.

Around here - unless you know either THEIR part number, or the year make model of the CAR/TRUCK it came out of - all you'll get from them is ths sound of eyelids blinking.

Good interchange books are certainly invaluable....as well as the ability to "read between the lines" when there was not an exact cross reference. A "Buyers Guide" or "Specification Book" is also valuable. I used to work behind the sales counter of a large auto parts/ warehouse distributor company. NOT a NAPA, but really darn close.

Next time look up the IH part # then go to the NAPA web site and put the part number in the search box and click the interchange button.
Don't have to worry about the blank looks at some stores that way.
IH seal # 43722D crosses to napa online # NOS-25043. $21.60 at the closest store from me.

The worst is when you can't tell them what kind of car/truck it is - there's no way to hide that you're looking for a TRACTOR part.

9 times out of 10, Once you make that fatal mistake, you're INSTANTLY shutdown with an "Oh, we don't sell tractor parts". And all interest in assisting any further goes right out the window.

Tell them it's a "1940 something" tractor and if there was any interest in helping you - that'll get it thrown out the window.

Don't get me wrong, I've got a lot of respect for MOST of the guys behind the counter, they're a great resource when I'm doing work on a car or truck - but, at least in these parts, tractors are just such a rarity that most people have never even seen one in person.

They're like alien spaceships - and even very reasonable, smart people assume the parts couldn't possibly be interchangeable with auto parts.

So - not KNOCKING them - just stating the fact that unless you know exactly the part number of what you need, you just can't walk into a napa around here and hope to walk out with a tractor part!

I have always taken the ID and OD dimensions to Napa or bearing and seal company, and they always managed to have one for me. I seldom had a number to cross over.

Aaron What I have written down is IH#377786 R 92, CR#25065, National #475001. Don't know what the NAPA# is but they should be able to cross any of these over.

Also the original H seal # was 43722D and it crosses to napa or CR 25043 and napa shows the 25043 and 25065 as the same size seal. 25065 is so many cents cheaper for some reason.
