As a matter of interest on the matter of threads, I keep wondering why IHC used British Standard Pipe and British Standard Pipe Taper threads instead of National Pipe Thread. I just had the Farmall H radiator re-cored and need to tidy up the drain pipe thread in the lower tank. It turns out to be 3/8" BSPT and not NPT. The block drain plug is also 3/8" BSPT. Similarly many of the grease nipple threads are 1/8" BSP. I had thought that NPT was the U.S. standard and would therefore be used in preference to the British standard. Any ideas? Is there a U.S. parallel pipe thread?
