Pictures of working tractors.

Since Delta's post below might as well start a post for everyone to share there tractors that still earn a keep. My H did a lot of plowing this year. The Super M plowed ground that hadn't been touched in 50+ years. My 9N did a little but needs a new battery and a tranny seal here soon. So here are a few of my pics. Didn't grab any of my H doing real work. Will the next time I'm home.

Here's a picture taken about five or six years back digging out from a snowstorm. Always nice to see old equipment being used today.

I have a 2 and 3 bottom little genius number 8. I have a set of I.H. Drag discs. A McCormick picker and my downfall. A jd 1240 planter haha. Eventually want to have all IH but this will do for now. I want to get a #37 disc too. I hope that is my next purchase.

This is my 200 doing a little garden work. To think my dad and I used a 200 to plant and cultivate over 100 acres of corn plus work peanuts, hay, 18 acres of cotton, and tobacco. The 200 was the primary planting and cultivating tractor from 1956 until about 1972. No this is not the same 200 and the front mounted planters are not the same.

I am just in the process of buying one or selling one to our local club. It was Grandpas #37 that after he passed the estte decided to sell. Dad took it to the local consignment auction and bought it back for $150. I towed it 8 miles to town to use for planting oats last week and it didn't wobble too bad until about 15 mph. I think I will buy it and loan it to the club to use, just sayin that some decent deals are out there.

Yeah. This summer I have a really nice paid internship coming up and I plan on taking a paycheck from it and buying a new Saginaw with it. It'll pay for itself over time. Plus I have about a mile of gravel driveway to keep clean and neat. A box blade to level it and a blade in the winter will make it easy.

If I remember reading right isn't one of yours an smta? I don't know why I think that but I may have heard that. If so its nice to see it earning its keep. I don't believe in show tractors. I got all of mine cheap and I use them all the time they don't looks pretty but they will put work any of the modern junk.

The M on the baler is a plain ol Super M,not SMTA.The "Super" has an M-W live pto handclutch, live hydralic pump,3 point,450 sleeves/pistons(yes,it LIKES gas!),and of coarse a Swartz wide front. It has an M grill on it because the original was mashed beyond fixing when I bought the tractor. The fenders are early '06 clamshells modified to fit the M axle.It also has a weight bracket that holds 9 suitcase weights. He doesn't work so hard anymore plowing, disking ,etc since I got the bigger tractors.Still one he!! of a good tractor!

Love all these photos!

I Might be crazy, but I think these tractors feel the same way I do. It is good to have a job to do.makes you feel "valuable" . ;)

Yeah I'll be getting a Saginaw eventually. Once I get a couple paychecks from my summer internship. If i find a used one i'll get it if not I'll get a new one. It'll pay for itself pretty quick.
