hi there kathy, scale downd tractors are not imposible but not that easy .you can buy a garden tractor and dress it up changing the the body work to the one you want. doing it from the bottom up you will need a friend whith machine shop skills. i made a 1/4 scale 403 combine, iam a welder fabricator and i do machine work .find a model u like then find the friends that have thosr skills.YOU WILL HAVE FUN. gaston

I do not now the name but at Red Power last year there was a booth that said they would build any tractor you wanted. They looked like garden tractor size, and looked just like a 560IH.

It's not rocket science, and someone that's sufficiently motivated to build one for themselves should be able to figure something out.

You'll probably want to start simple and work your way up. The simplest thing to do is paint a Cub Cadet red and add some custom decals to indicate the tractor model you want it to be.

You can enhance the "authenticity" of your early efforts by carving various detail parts out of wood. Coat with Bondo, sand smooth to simulate metal, paint, and install with epoxy or screws. Hood side emblems, mufflers, air intakes... For example you can manufacture a 56 series grille with wooden dowels.

As you go along you can add various fabrication skills. Sheet metal fabrication would be the next thing to learn, because then you can make your own custom hoods for a more authentic looking tractor.
