350 hydraulics run hot

I wanted to hook the 350 to the disk and swirched the control valve from double acting to single. Started the tractor and it made buzzing noise up by the valves. Letting it run for a while the pump got hot (~300 degrees at the pump, 230F at the reservoir). Switched it back to two way and the pump still ran hot.

Any ideas about what happened and/or what needs to be fixed ?

Thanks

Just make darn sure that the roll pin is not bent where you are turning the stem to double and single. With engine running, turn it and see if you can determine the spot where it does not run on high pressure. Too far either way will make it stay on demand.

Thanks Pete, there was a spot where it took the load off the engine. I'm running it now to check the pump temperature, but I'm pretty sure you nailed it.
