IH Model 91 Combime

(quoted from post at 13:24:16 04/23/12) What 4 cyl. engine did the Model 91 combine have in it. Was it compareable to the H or M tractor?

No, not to either the H or the M. I think it was the 153 c.i. engine, or maybe even the 123?

If memory serves the Model 91 used the IHC C135 engine - same as the 340 and 404 tractors. It's essentially a Super C engine with a slightly larger bore.

The C135 engine also has a bigger bore and a slightly longer stroke than the C123 engine in the Super C. The bore was 3 1/4 inch and the stroke was 4 1/16 inch cf 3 1/8 and 4 for the C123 engine
The C135 in the 91 combine was also rated at 2000 rpm.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping it was the same as an H. If so, would it had been a good engine for an H pulling tractor? Would this be a good engine for a C pulling tractor?
