Another 3 point hitch question.

I want to and eventually will get a 3 point hitch. I will go Saginaw as I want a quality hitch and want to be able to use it and not work about it breaking. If I get one for my H would I be able to take it off with out too much hassle(say an hour or 2) and put it on my Super M? I know that sounds stupid but if one goes down could i swap it out with out it being an all day process?

The H and M were designed to be able to use the same axle mounted equipment and I think the same is true for the Super M, the SH has the same axle housings as the H. All you'd have to do would be to unbolt it from around the axle housings of one tractor and then bolt it to the other, plus configuring the hydraulics in whatever way you plan to do that. I can take the axle mounted #31 loader on and off my H in an hour or two, and it is somewhat larger and more awkward to handle than the hitch would be.

Great, I'm glad the pump was okay. I try to give them a thorough visual inspection but they come off stuck engines so I don't have a real world way to test them.

The Worksaver 3 point came off the H the other day. We broke it down into manageable pieces and it went pretty quickly. The main frame was too heavy to easily lift alone without a chain hoist. I expect that the Saginaw will be the same. I might find out about that today.

It will swap over and bolt right on with no modifications, but I don't know about it NOT being an all day event....

There's a lot of iron there to move. It's not something you could do if, say, you needed to get the hay in and a rain storm was looming on the horizon.

It will come off in 15-30 minutes with a hoist. A little longer to install because of lining up the holes.
