Have a early 15-30, sn 90623. have been looking for timing marks with not much luck. Unlike my 10-20 which are found on flywheel, this flywheel is covered by bellhousing. Pulled small cover under oil filter thinking this would show marks on side of flywheel. no luck there unless I'm missing something. Also curious what weight oil to use in transmission/rearend. Thanks

i dont trust marks on any of those flywheels. roll the engine over and watch the valves and you can figure out on which stroke its on. i also remove the hand covers on the side of the block and watch the crank and rod position on number one to know when its at TDC, then i set my mag

it may not be the right way, but i always get em to run

When installing the magneto on mine I pondered where the timing marks might be. Luckily between a thumb over the #1 plug hole and a probe to tell me when I was approaching TDC it was good enough to set the mag up. I'm not sure what you're needing to do, so I don't know how much accuracy you're needing.
