getting air out of lines on 574 diesel?????

i was wondering does the injector pump have a thing to get air out of the lines after running out of fuel.well i started at the filters did that and then took lines off pump and finaly got it going.but i was wondering if there was a thing on the pump like a bleeder screw or something?

Hi Kevin, good to hear you got your 574 running again. There are no bleed screws on the injection pump. The only method is what you did and sometimes air pressure in the fuel tank helps.

yeah i took the line off by the tank and no fuel came out.so i took a hand air pump blowed it into the valve thing and fuel shot out.you was right must had been rust or something in it.fuel started shooting out had to hurry up turn the valve off.
