Hydraulic cylinder for 37 disc

Standard 2 inch with the small premade hoses from farm supply store. Mount the cylinder, then hookup the disc to tractor and measure for the two hoses. Remember one will be a foot shorter than the other.

GordoSD has it right but I would also suggest doing a "fit check" with the disc hooked to the tractor and using some string or other flexible material to make sure they are long enough for the sharpest turns in both directions you can make without stretching the hoses. I would also add a little more in case you want to use the disc on a different tractor later which would require additional length. I have a single extra coil on my hoses which would extend about three additional feet if needed to be used on a different tractor. It is certainly less expensive to buy a couple or three extra feet now then new hoses later, Hal.

But, will a two inch cylinder pick up the disc?? I've been told it takes at least a 3 inch cylinder?? Is an 8 inch the proper lenght??? So a 2 by 8 would do it??? Thanks, Cmore

A 3x8 is best suited for this The two inch may lift it but it could strain at if your system is not putting out the correct pressure of GPM. Myself i have always run the 3x8's on everything , plows disc's and planters . They were cheap at the sales and came with hoses for 5 to 20 bucks.

I would say 3.5x8 was the recommended cyl when these were new, this is what IH listed, 3x8 would work but at its limit, plus the speed it raised & dropped would be harder to control. I used to work at a IH dealer in new machinery setup & delivery in the 1960s, we never put any smaller than 3.5x8 also because a lot of disks had a spring tooth mulcher added.
