JUST CHANGED OUT WATER PUMP T STAT STARTED UP AND STARTED GETTING HOT.DOESNT SEEM TO CIRCULATE WATER FROM PUMP. SHOULDDNT YOU SEE WATER COMING BACK TO RADIATOR. RADIATOR FLOWS FROM TOP TO DRAIN GOOD.HOW WOULD YOU GET RID OF AIR POCKET OR BLOCKAGE IN MOTOR.FORCE OUT WITH PRESSURE? STUMPED! JIM

Is the bottom hose hot? If it isn't hot you probably have blockage in the tubes not allowing the coolant to circulate. Make sure you have the thermostat installed correctly or that it is opening fully. Your fins on the radiator may be plugged from dirt blocking the air flow. Hal

If it is trapped air in the system, I can tell you what I do on automotive engines...I fill it almost full, then run the engine till it just starts to get "hot", then shut it down and wait about 3-5 minutes and repeat the cycle over again. By stopping the engine, the heat has a chance to transfer around and equalise somewhat and gives the stat a chance to heat up and open. . The air will usually work itself out in the process. Can take up to 4-5 cycles on stubborn ones. After it is circulating, top it off and cap it. I also use the special air operated vacuum devices to purge systems , but this cycle method works too. Good luck to you !

These engines don't usually air lock or when they do it is very little and works out. If I was worried about and air lock on that one I would screw the temp sending unit out enough to relieve the air.
