IH 606

I just picked up an IH 606 diesel with a broke crank and block, was wondering if a D282 motor out of a 560 would bolt up and work in this tractor, found a 560 with a good motor bad transmission that I can get cheap.

Will bolt in, put in a 301D into a 460D utility once, you will need to change 606 front cover assy probably over onto 560 engine as they are differrent. On mine 460 flywheel and clutch bolted right on 301D. Have since sold it to my brother, makes the neighbors scratch there heads when it is hooked to larger PTO equip than a stock 460 should handle.

D282 and D301 are same block externally, right?

Thanks, I was thinking that the blocks looked the same, this should be a fun project with good results.
