I see these 20" 4 spoke wheels advertised for Ms. I thought they were all 3 spoke and a little smaller in diameter than these??? Were these meant for ANOTHER IH tractor????

The M and the H use the 18 inch diameter, 3 spoke steering wheel. The 20 inch diameter, 4 spoke steering wheel was used maybe on the W9? But I think it was optional as well for the M and the H.
Did you know that the EARLY M and H came with a steering wheel totally different from the 3 spoke affair most of us think of as being standard?
It was still a 3 spoke, 18 inch, but was a covered steering wheel, very similar to what you might find on a truck of that era.

I have an early 39 A that has a 2 spoke steering wheel that was covered , but some of the rubber is missing from the center. I don`t know how many were produced this way, but you see them this way in early advertising.
(quoted from post at 20:16:50 04/21/12) Is it plastic,or is it the steel "war knob" I see for sale on ocasion???

Not steel, they are more like a rain drop shape. Pretty much the same as the rubber ones.
It almost likes like their plastic. What was it called??? Something lite IIRC.
