OK so I decided to part out the first 560 and use parts on a second one I bought. Most of my problems are simple change this or do that but I have run into something that may be related. I changed the oil pan gasket thinking that was where it was leaking, wrong. Owen A. suggested taking off the inspection plate by the rear of the pan and seeing where it is coming from. I let it run at an idle for awhile and didn't find any thing. Drove it around and then it started to leak a slow drip from both under the one edge of the crank and also by the seam of the block where the opening is. Now the related part, I have been trying to adjust the clutch the TA and it seems like it bottoms out before releasing. The linkage for the handle and the short linkage are both to the extreme in shortness and when pulled or stepped on to the end of travel, you feel almost a grinding feeling in the lever/handle.The tractor is not releasing so it will roll backwards down a slope with the clutch in, or TA pulled, but yet if the handle is pulled the TA works when moving and does not slip. Is it possible the engine thrust bearing is worn letting the clutch move the crank in when I step on it and then it leaks oil at the same time?
I pulled the plate over the TA clutch and didn't find anything that looked wrong and I know the bearing looks good and is not touching the fingers of the clutch when released.I am confused.

That is an area that is oftentimes overlooked.

Crank bearings need to be replaced roughly ever 5,000 hours because they do wear.

If the thrust bearing is shot, you can usually see the front balancer 'bouncing' forward and aft at an idle.

Well I opened the cover and took a better look at the TA clutch. The disc appears new and some of the other parts look very new. The release fingers are tipped back towards the clutch disc so I think there is not enough travel to disengage the clutch. I have the spare 560 ta yet and it is not set up the same way nor does it have as thick of a clutch disc. Can I set the adjusters in so the fingers move out with it in the tractor or do I need to split it to fix this?
Also would you trade a tractor like this for a diesel that needs a clutch, I want to use this baling hay this summer.
