hydrolic pump 1066

Pump on my 1066 seems to be wearing out. When i try to raise the disc, or whatever i have behind me, it goes real slow. A lot of times i have to speed the engine up just to get it to move. Would it be best to rebuild the pump or get a different one? Think the factory was a 12 gallon pump, thought about getting a 15 gallon or more. Anyone have any suggestions? Also is a rebuild very difficult for a weekend wrench turner? Thanks for your help.

I put a 17 gallon pump on mine and really like it!

There is no rebuilding the silly things; the aluminum housing is what wears out.

The bigger pump is nice BUT the down side is that the filter system was only ment for 14 GPM flow so it will be sucking the bypass open and not all fluid will flow thru the filter. To get the flow thru the filter you would have to get one of them kits that STACK two filters on top of each other.. Myself i did not like them because if ya ever really get the tractor stuck IHMO there is to much chance that it might get ripped off . Around here every once in a while we really stick a tractor or should i say PLANT a tractor . I had my one 706 PLANTED that to get on it ya had to step down.

I have a new Imt Hydraulic adapter and filter 1-1/4" in and 1-1/4 out for sale. It’s a 10 micron spin-on. Made in USA by Iowa Mold Tooling Co. Filter # 73052092. It's 9" x5", the filter is incluced. I ordered the wrong size. $30 + shiping.
