so what all do i need to know about these machines I am looking at one that is coming up for auction I plan to call the farmer about it and was wondering what i needed to ask about I am looking for something with a bit better traction as what i have right now sometimes spins out with my 20 ft no till drill. I may use a 12 row pull type planter with it as well but I haven't decided to buy one of those still trying to decide if i need one and I don't know if my little allis would be able to handle it in less than perfect conditions. So i mostly need to know what to ask about and roughly what this tractor should bring at an auction on tractor house i have seen them for sale anywhere from 4000 bucks to 18000
thanks guys have a nice day Levi

IMHO, U-joints and hinges are the most important. If those aren't decent the tractor almost isn't worth buying.

If the front wheels show any indication of being weighted or dualed, walk away.
