FARMALL H HEAD BOLTS

I just took the head off of a H and it had no flat washers on the bolts. I thought that it was supposed to have flat washers but I could be wrong. I looked in my book and it does not say anything. If I need washers do I need them on all of the bolts or just some,and also where can I get them. Thanks

3 wks ago I removed head on SH and as i remember only one bolt had a washer. It was thicker than hardware washers. I have to remember which bolt it was on.

Just put the head back on my H and it had 3 washers on it. One on the left center under the valve cover, one just forward of center and one rear of center on the right side of valve cover. It probably doesn't make much difference where they go that I can see. I just put them back where they came from. Joe
 
Look at your head. If it has any sleeves pressed in the head going through the water jacket, it needs a heavy washer on each of these. May be two or three. Some also have washers on the throttle bracket for better torque control on nuts. The head bolt studs are longer in all of those locations needing washers.
